Finally! I found some time to write a new G! fic! :::smile::: Well it's been four years since Blaze had Lynx and she hasn't explained to her about Prowl. Blaze is the commander of the police force and her best friend has become Sideswipe, her patrol partner.

"Momma! Momma!" A desprete little voice screamed out loud into the darkness, scaring anyone within the quarters at the urgency it displayed. The voice reached the audios of a black and white femme, sharply awaking her from recharge. Blaze immediately brought her dim blue optics on-line. The little voice crying out grabbed her attention as she shook off the affects of recharge. Moonlight shone into the femme's room, and it went over her face. Her white metal gleaming in its soft presence. Shoving the blankets aside, Blaze pushed herself up to sit on her recharge berth. <Oh Primus not again.> Blaze thought to herself, almost groaning to what she knew already what was happening. She swung her legs over the side of the bed. The black and white femme reached down to the side of her recharge berth and grabbed her breastplate. Locating the latches in the dark atmosphere so she could re-attach it. Once that was done Blaze got up and headed out her door, only to be greeted with another loud "Momma!"
Blaze rounded the corner in her quarters to reach a closed door. She quietly opened the door and looked inside. The sight she saw made her heart ache, poor little thing. There on a small recharge berth was a little white and black femme, her face was stained with tears as they continued to roll down her cheeks. She gripped a brown teddy bear tightly in her tiny arms, and she sniffled as she tried to hold back more tears. The glow from a white night light poured on to the little girl's face as she was sitting straight up in her bed with the blankets huddled around her. Blaze quickly went over to her side, the little femme moved to her side and Blaze placed her arms around her. The black and white femme lifted the little girl, teddy bear and all into her lap and hugged her close. "Shhh...It's okay Lynx. I'm here." Lynx trembled as her tears continued, Blaze could feel them roll down her chest, the little girl continued to bury her face close to her mother.
Blaze rocked her form back and forth, softly consoling the trembling child within her arms.
Lynx continued to cry out and hugged her teddy bear harder. The darkness within the room surrounded the mother and daughter in a quiet embrace. Blaze took one of her hands and began to gently massage the little white and black femme's back. Moving it around in circles.
Lynx began to calm down, choking back her tears and quieting down. "Everything's all right, Momma' s here." The gentle tone Blaze gave to her daughter consoled the little girl greatly.
By this time, Blaze's front was covered in wetness from the cleansing fluid, her daughter was slightly trembling and her grip around the tiny femme increased.
Within a few cycles Lynx's optics were dim blue, but she was back to normal, still in her
mother's arms. Slowy she began to speak, "They were back, the Decepticons came back."
Blaze sighed quietly, she knew this is what the problem was. "Sweetie, you had a nightmare, everything is all right now. They can't hurt you, it was just a dream." Lynx looked up at Blaze, "But couldn't they be in my closet or under the bed?" Blaze smiled warmly at her daughter, "Let's find out." Blaze lifted her up into her arms as she stood up, she headed over to the light switch switching on the over head lamp.
The two of them then headed over to Lynx's closet, and Blaze grabbed the door knob with one hand while the other supported her daughter. She swung the door open and the tiny femme in her arms quickly flung her hands up to cover her optics, her teddy bear dangling from her closed fingers. Lynx continued to do this as Blaze said to her in a reassuring tone, "No Decepticons in here, see Lynx." The little girl reluctantly parted one of her fingers so she could peek into the storage space, relieved to see no horrible Decepticon pointing his rifle at her right between the optics. The tiny femme sighed and Blaze shut the door, before she turned back to the recharge berth. She set Lynx down on the bed and got down on her hands and knees, motioned her head as if to be looking under the bed, trying to find something.
The little girl studied her mother's face, seeing her search for something under the bed. "Nope, no big ol' Decepticons under here either." Blaze brought her head back up to be level with her daughter's on the recharge berth. "You see sweetie, there's no Decepticons in your room at all. You're safe." Her white and black metal shone in the light from the over head lamp, her soft smile gave Lynx reassurance. "You're right Momma. But will they ever be in here?" Blaze gave her daughter a warm smile, "You have nothing to worry about sweetie. I'm here to protect you." Blaze looked at Lynx's teddy bear sitting in front of her. "You even have Teddy to protect you, see he knows kunfu, the best of all the teddies out there." Blaze picked up the bear and proceeded to make the stuffed toy kick the air and she spoke out some kunfu sounds like "Hai-ya!" Or "Take that you nasty old Decepticon." in a high voice. Lynx giggled at what the bear was doing, delight in her optics. Blaze stopped her motions and handed the bear back to her daughter, who grabbed it in a big hug. "Do I get a big bear hug?" Blaze asked her. The little femme leaned into her mother's arms and hugged her tightly. Lynx broke it off and lay back down in her recharge berth. Blaze pulled the blankets around the femme, tucking her in. She kissed Lynx gently before getting up to her full height, the little girl watched as she did this. "G'night Momma."
"Good night sweetie." Blaze headed for the door and switched off the light, seeing her daughter turn over and shut her optics off, a small smile on her face as she gripped her teddy bear close. Blaze grinned to herself before closing the door quietly behind her.
<It's happening again, I don't know why she's having so many nightmares.> Blaze thought to herself while she tiredly walked into the living room, sitting down on to the couch, shaking her head in confusion. <Ever since I told her about the war she's been like this. It's been the fifth time this month. What can I do?> Blaze let her head fall back, her systems trying to wind down for recharge, but her optics stayed on-line. She let her thoughts drift, thinking of what she should do, but the only ideas she could think of weren't logical to her. Blaze rubbed her optics, not knowing how she aquired the habit, she was tired. It was about 2:30am earth time in Metroplex.
Blaze was worried about her daughter, she noticed she wasn't letting this go. Blaze knew she had to tell her about the war since it was in almost everything Blaze did. She was the head commander of the secret police unit, Prime had given her this position. Lynx had seen her mother work in the ammuntions and armory several times. She'd even been on the Silverhawk, the police space shuttle. Being a single parent didn't make anything easier, but so far Blaze had managed just fine. The femme sighed as she thought of all she'd been through since the beginning of having her child. She had wished her mate, Prowl, was still with her for years after his *death*, but now she had come to accept it. (*Prowl isn't dead, his spark is still on-line, but trapped in space.*) There was no way that she had forgotten him, hell he was never far from her thoughts, but still she had to adjust to life without him by her side. Memories of him and her flooded into her logic circuits, and she smiled softly to herself, yet it was bittersweet, for her lower lip trembled and she tried to hold back her tears. They rolled down her face silently and she got up to go back to her recharge room. On her way she glanced over at his old working desk, which she now used, on it she saw the outline of a picture frame. Turning on the spot, Blaze headed over to the desk and turned on the desk light.
The light revealed what was on the picture. Blaze picked it up and she had to smile but she choked back a sob. It was a picture of herself with Prowl. They were smiling happily as he had his arm around her shoulder, pulling her closer to his body. The picture showed herself so content next to Prowl, she had a hand placed gently on his chest. His smile etched into her optics then her sould. "Oh Prowl, I wish you were here." The picture had been taken on their bonding night, on the Silverhawk, the secret police space cruiser. She had been bonded to him for a long time, and Blaze remembeered almost every moment of it. The look he had on that bonding photo made her smile even more. One of her sweetest memories ever was that night, she'd never forget it. The picture continued to show what once was, then Blaze remembered the present. Her heart ached, she hadn't told Lynx about her father yet for she had been to little to understand where he was now. But Blaze was set on telling her very soon, she had to know who her daddy was.
Blaze held the picture against her chest and hugged it close, her optics wandered off into the darkness and another tear fell down her face. She set the picture back down on the desk and shut the desk light off. The bright light it had caused wisked away to let the darkness sweep bakc in. The black and white femme turned and started to head back to her recharge room, she missed him most on nights like this. Crossing her arms over her chest Blaze walked slowly, before she turned the corner to her room, she peeked her head into her daughter's room. Lynx lay peacefully and breathed gently as she was in recharge. Blaze smiled and went back to her room. Lying down on the recharge berth, Blaze sighed. To the night air she whispered, "She's so beautiful Prowl. I wish you could see her."

Phoenix sighed in disgust at what her daily planner had written on it. Today she had to train some of the new recruits, a job she was about for as petro-rabbit guts on a stick. Leafing through some more of her files, she tried to get what she'd need for that day. Recruits are always the worst in her mind, they never listened to anything which she tells them to do. A real hazzard if they misunderstand you. Prime though was insistant that Phoenix train at least one third of the new recruits, this was because she had more experience in this field than the others. <Why doesn't he get Kup to do these sort of things.> Nix continued to grumble to herself while she sorted out her things behind her desk. Her optics were searching around the desk top for her pass code card, when she noticed that Magnus had left his lap top behind. Things were getting real hectic for the Autobots, Magnus always forgot something or other these days. He'd be back later no doubt for it, he'd probably be in the middle of a conference when he notices that he doesn't have his lap top to type down his reports.
Phoenix picked up the small black computer and looked beneath it. Eagerly her optics scanned the small area which the device had covered. To her liking her pass code card lay there amongst a sea of small note-it papers. One of the small letters caught her attention, she tried to roll her optics at what the message had relayed to her logic circuits. It read:
'Phoenix,
Remember recruit session on Friday. Blade has been assigned your co-trainer, meet her in the armory before commencing.
-Prime'
<Blade. Hmm... this should be fun. Hopefully we'll be able to work together all right. Usually I'm the one always dealing with all her little stunts. Prime I'm hoping you got something to repay me for all of this.> Nix wasn't that pleased to work with Blade, for the femme was quite hard to deal with. Still wearing a mask of neutrality, it was kinda creepy. But Nix didn't have the time to worry about her at the moment. Her job was to get those recruits ready and trained before they headed out to the patrol squadrons. She checked to see exactly what type of training she was doing. It was new aerial/ground defense. <I wonder why Prime never asked Spring to work with me. He's the Aerial Defense Commander. Surely he knows more about these kind of tatics.> Phoenix shook off her thoughts as she put all her necessary items into her subspace pocket.
"Zeph! Come on, it's time to go!" Nix walked over to the doors trying to get her thoughts clear, but she gave the call out to her daughter. Nix had to drop her off at the academy before she went to the armory range. Some of the second class lieutenants looked after the children of other Autobots while they were on duty. It was a new area to get training in, but it was greatly needed. Most of the new parents within the Autobot ranks needed a place to send their children to while they were on their shifts doing their particular jobs. Phoenix dropped Zephyr off at the academy a few times so she could do her jobs more efficiently knowing that Zeph was in good care. Nix wasn't the only one who needed this service, Blaze needed it greatly. She was a single parent and she couldn't leave her child home, she didn't have her partner with her anymore. Nix could rely on Mags to take care of Zeph, and now they were expecting another on the way.
The little blue and red femme ran into the living room to meet up with her mother. "I'm ready Mommy." Her face was lit up with happiness, she liked going to the academy, it was interesting. Phoenix smiled down at Zephyr before taking her hand into her own. They exited the quarters and Nix turned to enter in the security locks on the key pad. When it beeped in acknowledgement of the quarters being secure, Phoenix began her way toward the west of Metroplex, her daughter skipping happily beside her as they continued on.

Sideswipe sat at his computer console within the Silverhawk going over the radio transmissions, hoping that one in particular would come through. He propped up his head with one hand, sighing softly to himself. The computer blipped out and trailed down a long list of radio transmissions, the words reflected on his face as he sat in his chair. The red and black male just dimmed his optics in boredom, this wasn't his idea of a good time.
"Aww come on! Where the hell is it!" Sideswipe was growing impatient and he almost slammed the console with his fist. Waiting was something he could do very well, but he had been looking over these transmissions for about an hour and no results were coming out of it. So much for patience as a virtue. No longer propping his head up, the male raised his arms above his head, stretching. As he pulled his arms further back, all his muscle cables stretched to meet his demands. He needed that, he had been incrediably tense. "Okay Teletran-5 you're gonna give me an answer whether you like it or not." Punching in some codes, Sideswipe tried to figure out why what he had wanted never showed up. Teletran-5 whirlled through his commands, and scrolled down the list of transmissions, finally stopping on one in particular.
Sideswipe let his optics linger on the line of radio information. It was the recording of a mission cruiser's report. The line also told when the transmission was received, about 4 weeks ago. "Thank Primus! I found it." He surveyed the readings some more before accessing the data.
It was a radio transmission from one of the Autobot mission cruisers which had been on a peace assignment for the last few years, trying to make a deal within one of the roughest areas of the galaxy, Bronxon VI. The shuttle was called the Baxon, named after the city which it was from. Sideswipe had been looking for this transmission for awhile, for two important members of its fleet were on his mind.
One was his brother, Sunstreaker and the other was Bluestreak, Blaze's brother-in-law. Both she and himself had been worried about their progress, hoping that they weren't running into too much trouble. Peace conferences take at least a few years to be fully acknowledged and settled, so the crew of the Baxon had been working for quite some time to get the Bronxonian elders to agree to a treaty. Optimus had kept an eye on this mission, so far most of it was going smoothly. The Bronxonian system was one ot the Autobot army's threats. They weren't full fledged enemies like the Decepticons, but it would help the Autobots greatly if they never became adversaries. So far they had been able to pull this off with benefits going to both sides, but the hard thing about this was the updates back to Earth. It was always weeks at a time before the next transmission was sent.
The leader of the Baxon was Silverbolt, Prime had appointed him personally. The crew was made up of about 30 Autobots from around the areas of Autobot forces. Some of the aerial, medical, scientific, assault, spy and secret police fleets were all mixed together. Bluestreak was one of the police force to be sent to the Baxon mission, Sunstreaker was from the assault force. The commanders of each force wanted to know the progress of the mission, trying to figure out when they were coming back.
Sideswipe read off the report and smiled widely. The details were are leading up to what he wanted to hear. He pushed himself up from his console chair and typed in a few security codes into Teletran-5, he had to tell Blaze abou the good news. Turning around quick the red Autobot headed out the commanding center of the Silverhawk shuttle, on his way to the bunker. They were coming home.

"No no NO!" Phoenix shook her head in frustration, the recruits weren't doing anything which she had told them to do. Just perfect. The group of young Autobots lowered their rifles and stood to attention, trying to get back in order. Their trainer was getting seriously pissed off. "How many times to I have to explain it. You MUST adjust the cross hairs so they point at the target and the energy readings are above 20 rads." She was pacing quickly back and forth in front of the line of troops, her optics fuming. "Otherwise you could hit another of our fleet, for the rifle power isn't stablized. You could also blow yourself to atoms if the gage is set too low."
Looking over at her fellow co-worker, Blade , she had to wonder why she wasn't going insane with frustration like she was currently. The neutral mask on her face didn't give anything away about how Blade was feeling, she just observed what was going on and decided to let Phoenix slide by her training techniques. Phoenix signalled to the troops to go back to the firing range and try again. They all turned around and began to adjust their rifles, and started to shoot at the targets as they began to practice again. Phoenix sighed and let her features relax somewhat. The gray femme walked over to the recruit commander and stood by her side; not saying a word. Phoenix looked at her from the corner of her optic, noticing a slight smirk on the gray femme's mouth. "So, why aren't you commanding them yet?"
Blade didn't turn her head to look at Phoenix, she just kept her gaze on the recruits, watching them silently as they continued to fire lasers at the targets before them. Blade collected her thoughts before answering, "Someone needs to give them the brutal treatment when it's necessary." Her voice was expressionless, but her optics glew a bit brighter, before returning to their normal dark blue. Phoenix raised an optic, "I see, so you are intending to boost their skill levels before today's done? I mean they're all rusty at using plasma rifles. I don't think they'll survive you're techniques." Blade looked over this time and replyed, "Believe me, they'll be greatful for this training when I'm done with them. It's time we get soldiers instead of trembling maintenance droids." Phoenix only rolled her optics, knowing full well that Blade would do what she wanted to these recruits. There was hardly any room for argue, and Phoenix wasn't even in the mood for it. So she let it pass, hey Blade could take up the training and she could leave early. No metal off her back. The two continued to watch the troops continue to practice.

Optics focused on her notepad, Blaze looked over a few squadron reports. Pleased with the results, all the energon dealers were arrested and accounted for. She was the police chief that was true, but she wanted to run it with some one as her co-commander. The secret police force ran very well under her command, but to Blaze she felt Prowl had done a much better job. She had been second in command for most of the time she was in the force and getting used to chief had been quite hard, but soon she had a tight grip on things. The second in command now was her police partner, Sideswipe.
She now was walking quickly along one of Metroplex's west corridors, with Lynx holding her hand walking beside her and her notepad in her other hand. Lynx was smiling happily and holding Blaze's hand tightly. Blaze looked down at her daughter and the thought which had crossed her mind last night returned to her. She knew today had to be the day she told Lynx about Prowl. Sooner of later Bluestreak would be returning to Earth from the Baxon mission, and he'd be looking for her. Although when he did find her he'd be greeted with sorrow. Bluestreak is Prowl's brother. Blaze had been there when Optimus had selected a few from the police force to go on the Baxon mission; Bluestreak had been one of the chosen ones. The Baxon mission was already deep in space when the Decepticon attack which had sent Prowl's spark into space had occurred. He never knew that his brother wasn't with them anymore, and he wouldn't be expecting Lynx at all. Lynx would have to understand about Prowl to understand who her uncle was when he came back.
The two were heading over to the academy, so that Lynx could be taken care of. They were passing the targeting range doors, and Blaze knew that Phoenix was there along with her sister, she needed some advice on how to break the news to Lynx about her father. Surely Nix or her sister could help her.
******
Phoenix had to correct some of the recruits while they still practiced with the rifles. Blade was formulating what she was going to try and teach the troops so they could be more alert and swift in aiming at an enemy. It was going to be harder than she thought.
The blasts from the rifles echoed in the room as they continued to train. The doors opened without anyone noticing, the sound was too loud for them to be heard whooshing open. A black and white femme walked in behind the commotion, scanning the room for Phoenix. Blaze's optics caught the sight of the crimson femme assisting a blue male, as he was having trouble reading his energy gage. Blaze was hoping they were improving, she knew it took a long time to train troops. Although she was thankful she didn't have to train anyone, her force was made up of Autobots who had at least a couple of years of battle experience.
She noticed Blade standing to the side with her arms crossed and watching the line of recruits blasting away at the targets, every few seconds they'd reload their rifles with more laser energy capsules. They were like bullets but let off the energy in quick blasts, each lasted about 25 shots. Blaze headed over to the gray femme, that same mask still on her face. Turning to look at the black and white femme approaching her Blade uncrossed her arms. "Hi Blade. Hard day?" "You could say that, these guys really need some work. It won't be long before their done this set of drills, then I get to drill them some more." Blaze shook her head and smirked. "Yeah I guessed new recruits needed a lot work, but hopefully they'll be ready to get out for duty, more are coming again next week." Blade blinked her optics slowly, "I think these guys will be done soon, a few of them aren't that bad though. That blue male which Phoenix is helping now is quite skillful. His name is Icestorm, probably the best of this group. Prime's assigning them soon, could be in your squadron."
Blaze looked over at the blue male with a critical optic, indeed he did seem very good. He could hit the target dead on, and he looked pretty strong. From the look of the twin rotars on his back she knew his transformation was a helicopter mode. He'd be useful to the secret police force if Prime assigned him there, she'd check out his record soon enough though.
Phoenix looked up to see Blaze standing over by Blade. At least a break in this. She had been helping Icestorm with his rifle, but the thing was malfunctioning, it wasn't his fault. "Icestorm, go to the armory and get a new plasma rifle. Return to your drills once you come back." "Yes commander." He said with a small nod. Phoenix started to head over to Blaze and Blade, while Icestorm began his way over to the armory doors. As he went he slowed his pace down a bit to look over his shoulder at the group of femmes, he couldn't help it, but he loved to look at the gray femme commander. His feul pump was beating faster, but he picked up his pace in response. She was so beautiful to him, from the first time he had begun his training to this moment, he adored her. His massive form shuddered a bit as he continued to head to the armory, he opened the door and sighed sadly as he stepped in. <I'll never get her, we're in two different worlds.>
Phoenix was wondering why Blaze was here in the target range. She soon was answered as Blaze started to explain her situation with Lynx. "She was so young I didn't know how to tell her about Prowl. Now I really don't know how to break it to her." Phoenix dimmed her optics in thought, that was a hard one. Blaze had suffered a lot over the loss of her mate, and Nix knew how much it would've hurt for her to try and explain to Lynx about Prowl. "All I can recommend is try and take it slow Blaze. Try and explain at first who her father is, that he still is alive, and that he's watching over you two. Just tell it from your heart, she'll understand." Blaze blinked her optics and nodded her head, a small smile on her face. "Thanks Nix, I'm just worried she'll be heart broken. I'll try my best." Blaze heard a beep goo off, it was her commlink. [Hey Blaze, come over to the Silverhawk asap! Good news.] Blaze smiled, it was her best friend. [Thanks Side' I'll be there soon. Blaze out.] "I've got to boot it on out to the shuttle hanger, thanks again guys. Good luck with the troops," Blaze said as she started to head for the door. "Oh! Remember to signal me if Prime gives word on where some these troops are headed. I'd like to know."
Phoenix smiled as her friend left and Blade just watched her sister leave without a trace of emotion on her face.

Sideswipe was exiting the large police shuttle, typing his security pass code to secure the shuttle while he left. The codes were accepted and the sound of dozends of security systems came blipping on and Sideswipe turned around as he continued to walk to the hanger exit. Confident that the silver ship was secure he turned around, still walking , to leave the hanger. The Silverhawk wasn't the only shuttle within the absolutely enormous shuttle hanger, there were shuttles for relays and other squadrons. The Silverhawk was one of the most powerful of the shuttles, since it had more advanced weaponry, concealment and communications than most of the others. The police force needed this type of ship to do more of the dangerous missions along with stron back up to the battles against the Decepticons.
The red officer rounded the corner to almost ram into his partner. He was right up against her frame, his red chest armor scraping slightly at her white metal. Backing away with a look of embarassment, Sideswipe looked her in the optics. "Sorry Blaze, I was too much in a hurry. I guess I got a glitch in my logic circuits. I didn't mean to almost run you over." She looked back at him with a smile, "Hey I don't worry about it, Side'. What's this good news you have to tell me?" His features brightened, "I was looking over the latest radio transmissions when I found the one which we both were hoping would come soon. The Baxon is almost home, they'll be docking within the next couple of days. The transmission was dated 4 weeks ago, and it takes about 4 to 5 weeks to get back from Bronxon VI to Earth." Blaze smiled widely, she playfully slapped Sideswipe on his arm. "That's great! Your brother will be back along with Bluestreak and some of our fleet, we need them." Sideswipe grinned at her for the playful gesture, he could understand her happiness, the deal with the Bronxonian elders had been made, and thye wouldn't be threatened anymore. His grin faded as he frowned slightly in confusion when he observed his best friend's face. Her face was wavering in happiness, he dectected sadness in her optics and her smile disappeared.
"Blaze? What's wrong?" She looked up at him, a slight frown on her face. "I'm just worried about something I have to do tonight, and I don't know how it will turn out." She turned her head to the side, away from his gaze. "Blaze tell me about it, maybe I can help." He noticed she was trembling slightly. "Side I.... have to tell Lynx about Prowl." Her voice low and sad. She turned her gaze back to his optics, and he could see the cleansing fluid in the corners of her optics.
"How can I explain to her about Prowl? It's just too hard for me to do. I never told her before because she was too small to understand. Side' I don't know how I cna bring myself to tell her about him." A tear began to slide down her face, her optics glistening with cleansing fluid. "How can I even begin to tell her about him, when I break down crying everytime I think about him... I miss him so much Side'." He pulled her close to him, hugging her softly. "It's all right Blaze, he's still with you." She trembled in his arms, and all he could do was just be there for her. Her tears rolled down her cheeks and on to his chest armor. His best friend was pouring out years of built up anguish. She hadn't cried over Prowl in a long time and he wished he could take her pain away, but he couldn't. All he could do was be there.
"Lynx will understand, she'll be happy to know about her daddy. You've done so well so far, I know you can tell her about Prowl. You'll feel better knowing she knows." Blaze looked up at him when her trembling subsided, she smiled at him warmly. "Thanks Sideswipe." He looked down at her and smiled back. "Anytime, you know I'm here for you" Her features brightened a bit, and she said to him, "What did I ever do to deserve a best friend like you?" As she pulled away from their embrace he said with a smirk, "I don't know but you musta had a glitch in your circuits when we became friends." She laughed softly and shook her head. "I had a glitch? All I can remember is laughing myself stupid, the look on your face when you lost your 2000 credits to Prowl in that round of Cyberpoker was so funny. I've never seen optics go as wide in shock as yours went, and your jaw almost dropped to the ground." He chuckled, "Yeah I'll never make that mistake again, but hey life can lead you to good friends even through the most shocking incidents. I know now how far my jaw will drop." They laughed together for a short time before Blaze turned to leave.
"Thanks Side' I'll see you tonight at the briefing, and I'll try and talk to Lynx." He smiled at her and watched her turn the corner of the corridor. Turning around to face the shuttle doors, Sideswipe entered his pass code and entered the hanger. The fleets of shuttles greeted his optics. He noticed a few of the other aerial bots working on a damaged shuttle and he went over to help them. Fixing problems was one of his specialties. He silently thanked Primus for having Blaze as his best friend. Reaching the group of aerial bots he greeted them and started to help them repair the damaged shuttle.

Icestorm sighed as he entered his quarters which were in the lower levels of Metroplex. His small living space was dark as the door whooshed open. The blue male entered the room with dim optics and he stretched his frame. One which was quite heavily built, some of his silver metal accenting his blue lustre. Icestorm was a triple changer, he could change into a rescue helicopter and a snowmobile, two forms he hoped to use to in which ever squadron Prime placed him in. He raised his arms over his head in a stretch, but he had a sad expression on his face. The doors closed behind him and he lowered his massive frame down on his recharge berth. <I don't know why I feel this way about her, but I can't shake it either.> His train of thought was solely on a single gray femme, her form visualized in his logic circuits. Icestorm removed his rifle from his subspace and placed it next to his bed.
He lay back and stared at the ceiling. The blue triple changer wasn't much of a new recruit, for he had been training to be an Autobot for about 5 years. The others had only been in the army about half a year, and he felt awkward being the ony one with more experience then they had. He had been placed there so he could practice more, not that he needed it though. His thoughts weren't on that though, all he could think about was Blade.
******
Lynx giggled as she sat on Blaze's lap, they were both at her desk in their quarters. A single lamp was lit, creating a warm glow in the room. Lynx was playing with her teddy bear as her mother scrolled down a bunch of military reports Prime had given her at the briefing. She did see her best friend again, but they didn't have that much time to talk after the briefing, he was needed in the security sector for another briefing. She'd see him tomorrow since the police force was planning an attack on the Decepticon energon bunker in a couple days after the Baxon docked.
Lynx looked over at what her mother was scrolling down, to her it looked like just boring stuff. She let her optics wander the desk top, seeing all the mountains of paper work, police reports, fleet member files and computer disks. She kept looking over the desk until her optics settled on two picture frames. One of the pictures was of a group shot of Blaze's friends, Sideswipe, Springer, Arcee, Magnus, Phoenix, Rodimus, Rodania, Blade and Kup. Lynx was in the picture being held up by Sideswipe, and Phoenix was holding up Zephyr. All were smiling (maybe not Blade) and it was a good reminder of the fun they had that day on Earth. The little girl remembered that picture and she smiled as her uncle Sideswipe had been really goofy that day.
The second picture which was larger than the first, and its image made her turn her head in question. The picture was of Blaze and Prowl. She recognized the one person as her mother, but the other didn't tell her anything, his face was some how comforting though. Being little she couldn't understand why she felt that way, let alone deceipher who he actually was. She squinted her optics a bit under the nagging question his face brought up. She decided to ask Blaze who he was.
"Momma, who's that?" Blaze looked to where she was pointing and sighed inwardly as her hand directed her vision at the bonding photo. She gathered her thoughts and figured out exactly her words, the time had finally come for her to tell Lynx about Prowl. "Lynx that's your daddy." The little girl quit pointing her finger at the picture and stared up at Blaze, her optics a questioning blue. "My daddy?" Her voice wasn't totally confused, and it had a sweet admiring tone to it. "Yes sweetie. He's your daddy, who loves you very much." Lynx turned her attention back to the picture, as Blaze leaned forward and grasped it with her hand. She brought it close for Lynx to see it. The little girl studied her father's face, his gentle blue optics, his white helmet armor, and his smiling face; she traced the outline of it with her small finger. "Daddy." She softly said. Blaze smiled warmly at her daughter's actions. "Momma? Where is he, why haven't I seen him before?"
Blaze bit back the urge to let her optics brim with tears but she held them back. Her daughter was looking up at her with those little questioning optics and Blaze let the words from her heart pour out so she could make her daughter understand. "Well Lynx, he's not with us anymore, his spark is in space. He's still alive though and he loves you dearly, just as I do. Remember that he's watching over us and I know someday we'll see him again." Blaze's holding tanks twisted with remembering the events which took her mate from her. Lynx looked back down at the picture of her father and she looked up at her mother. "I hope I do see Daddy someday. I love him, like I love you Momma." She pressed her little body into her mother with a hug, Blaze placed her arms around her daughter and hugged her tightly. A couple of tears went down her cheeks in tiny rivers. Lynx looked up at her mother and asked, "Why are you crying Momma?" Blaze blinked her misty optics and looked over at the picture of Prowl. "I just miss your Daddy very much sweetie. I love him too."
Lynx let a small tear fall down her cheek, "He's still with us." Blaze smiled down at her daughter and let her optics dry. "I know sweetie. I know." Her gentle voice quieted her daughter and soon Blaze placed the picture back on the desk. Both mother and daughter looked at the image of Prowl, both mate and father, and the two just stayed together in a quiet embrace. Silently praying to Primus that one day they'd see him again.
